Have you been tired of seeing the same default thumbnails on the Gamefroot website? Now you can give your game a custom promo image!
We’ve been adding a bunch of features for Gamefroot users to make their games unique. Over the past few weeks we have been working behind the scenes to upgrade the Gamefroot Game Creator, and now the brand new version is finally ready for you guys to test out!
One exciting new addition is the ability to upload your own promo images for your games.
Open up the new level editor, click on the File menu, and click “Open Level…” to load one of your existing levels.
Once your level has loaded, open the File menu and click Level Properties.
Next to the image of the default promo image, click “Browse” and select the image you wish to use as your new promo image. The image must be 643 x 256 pixels.
Here’s an example promo image to demonstrate the dimensions:
Your custom promo image will usually be displayed at a smaller scale, and 94 pixels will be cropped from each side (the sides have been darkened to demonstrate this).
Feel free to download this image and use it as a template. Right click on it and select “Save link as”, then save it to your computer to open later in your image editing software.
You could take a screenshot of your game and use it as a promo graphic, or even use your own artwork.
To upload the image you have selected, click the “Upload Promo Graphic” button. Then click “Save Changes”.
To see your beautiful new promo image in action, you will need to publish your game. Once you are ready to do this, open the File menu and click “Publish to Gamefroot…”
Follow the new publishing guide, and then once you have successfully published your game, head to over to the Browse Games page at Gamefroot.com, and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click “More Games” to see all the recently made games…
…and there you will find your awesome new promo image with your newly published game. Congratulations!
